Discussion Style
Discussions range from deeply analytical to wildly chaotic. There is no “right” way to contribute — we encourage a range of perspectives.
Some common lenses and approaches:
- Philosophical Inquiry: ethical dilemmas, existential questions, metaphysics, aesthetic theory
- Thematic Exploration: recurring motifs, cultural critiques, political ideas
Character Analysis: motivations, psychology, growth, symbolic roles - Narrative Craft: POV choices, structure, pacing, use of time
- Literary Technique: prose style, metaphor, imagery, literary devices
- Contextual Reading: historical background, authorial intent, literary movement comparisons
Personal Reflections: how the book resonates with your life, challenges your worldview, or devastates your emotions - Reactions: what made you laugh, what made you cry, what made you cover your mouth in shock.
- Extra Contributions: memes, moodboards, emotional spirals, dramatic reenactments
We don’t expect academic expertise — just honest, curious engagement (though academic expertise is welcome!) You can annotate the hell out of the text or show up with one absolutely bonkers thought. It’s all valid.
